Diverse Habitats Scotland is a small country with great landscape contrasts in a comparatively small area. This means, firstly, that the Scottish wilderness experience takes in such diverse habitats as rocky and sandy shores, pinewoods and other semi natural woodlands, moorland, upland and mountain all the way to high level tundra. Secondly, it also means that several of these habitats can be experienced without travelling great distances.
