Following a groundbreaking and powerful year that saw global, national and local attention given to racial justice issues and the desire for more inclusion, this February’ s Black History Month clearly deserves our attention more than ever.
During this month, attractions and institutions all over Baltimore will take the time to honor the myriad accomplishments and roles of Black people in U. S. history. From the work of abolitionists and artists, to dancers and doctors, scholars and scientists, and more, there is much to remember. And much to share.
As The New York Times once reported, Baltimore is“ a place where it feels like Black History Month every day.” After all, Black history really is American history.
