Keepers Vintage (left) and Bottle of Bread (below) Treasure HUNT Baltimore’s vintage and antique shopping scene is a collector’s dream. Here are some of the best boutiques offering everything from furniture to fashion. While Baltimore offers plenty of lovely local boutiques selling brand-new duds, one of the city’s charms is its robust community of expert vintage curators. There’s a vintage boutique or antique shop for all tastes, whether you’re into ‘50s rockabilly fashion or ‘70s-era housewares. JASON VARNEY If you have an HOUR (or two) If you’re downtown and have a bit of time to kill, swing through Mount Vernon to check out a few of the great vintage boutiques clustered on charming West Read Street. At Keepers Vintage—which shares a space with KSM Candle Co.—owner Erica Bentley sells a hand-picked selection of superwearable vintage clothing, including dresses, outerwear, accessories and more. You can also find another location in Hampden. Across the street, pop into Bottle of Bread. It’s got a quirky name and a tightly edited collection of vintage clothes for men and women that spans the decades between the turn of the century and the early 1990s, plus some new home items and personal accessories from independent makers. Walk a few blocks to find The Zone, open for more than 30 years. Owner Donna Jenkins stocks everything from mod ‘60s Schiaparelli scarves to glittery sequined ‘80s jackets.
