QA & Jennifer Kietzke Chief Concierge Karin Andersson The Dana on Mission Bay Concierge SDCA Secretary 2007 Hilton San Diego Resort Q A : Why did you choose to become a concierge? : I chose to become a concierge to help guests truly enjoy America’s Finest City. It is such a pleasure to interact with those who visit San Diego and to help them experience all that San Diego has to offer. It is always rewarding to help make a guest’s stay fun and unforgettable. Q A : What is the most frequently asked question you get from guests? : The number one question guests ask me is, “What is there to do in San Diego?” My first response is usually a little laugh just because I am thinking to myself, “Where do I even begin?” Q A : Why would someone visiting San Diego want to speak with a concierge? Q A IG IER HT G S E : Visitors should contact a concierge prior to visiting San Diego just to find out all there is to see and take in. I find that many guests arrive and realize there is much more to do than expected so they tend to feel a little overwhelmed. A concierge can listen to the guest’s needs and interests, then provide information, recommendations, and point them in the right direction. A concierge has a wealth of knowledge and is available to assist any type of guest. 1_48_VC_SumFall07.indd 22 C : My favorite resource that I use as a concierge is the World Wide Web. The internet is a great tool that is always at my fingertips. As a concierge I try to stay up-to-date on information all over the city, but there are times I do not have an answer for a guest. In this case the internet is invaluable because if I don’t know the answer, I will find it. ! iINSCONC : What is your favorite resource tool for referencing San Diego information? 7/27/07 4:53:02 PM
