Q A : Can you describe the range of services available to the guest through you, the hotel concierge? Q A : About how many visitors a day do you come into contact with? Q A : Why would someone visiting San Diego want to speak with a concierge? : My favorite restaurant for a date is Bali Hai out on Shelter Island. Its quiet ambience and breathtaking views are enough to enchant any woman. When I’m approached by husbands and boyfriends wanting to impress their wives and girlfriends, Bali Hai gets the nod. C iINSCONC IG IER HT G S E : When it comes to the services that we, the hotel concierge, can provide to the hotel guest, the sky’s the limit. Nothing can hold us back. Whatever you can imagine, we can pull it off. I may have to call in a few favors, use a little sweet talking, or apply some leverage, but I will get it done. 1_48_VC_SumFall07.indd 20 : Typically at the Sheraton Mission Valley I provide services to approximately 30-40 guests each day – from simple lunch and dinner reservations all the way to imaginative marriage proposals and hard to get Padres and Chargers tickets. : Any traveler in an unfamiliar city should make it his or her business to build a solid relationship with a concierge. Remember, it’s our business to get to know everything you might inquire about. Be candid. Talk to your concierge as you would talk to an old friend. Everything is held in the strictest confidence. Many times I’ve built such a strong relationship with guests that we consider ourselves friends. ! 7/27/07 4:52:44 PM
