HOW TO ADD SOME BALTIMORE FLAVOR TO YOUR EVENT Wow Factor THE When the annual Experient E4 conference came to town last summer, the Visit Baltimore team laid on the charm—we are Charm City, after all! Read on to get a taste of what we can do for your next event. Wheel Out the Lemon Stick Trike We greeted our guests with a local favorite, done our way— a custom-built trike outfi tted with a lemon stick cart! The roaming cart served up our warm-weather specialty lemon sticks, a Baltimore creation that involves sticking a peppermint candy stick into half a lemon as a “straw.” It’s a summertime treat that can’t be beat, and it’s pure Baltimore. Put Artists Center Stage At an evening reception at the American Visionary Art Museum, which highlights self-taught artists, we staged pop-up performances from Baltimore’s top student dancers and musicians, including African dance and drum performers from arts charter school ConneXions, dancers from Ballet Nouveau and the house band from School of Rock. Bring History to Life We didn’t stop there—the next night, E4 guests took in a 104 1920s-style “Rec Pier Social” at Sagamore Pendry, located on the historic Fell’s Point Recreation Pier, which once served as a gathering space for dancing and socializing. Our party included jazz-era music, Prohibition cocktails, fl appers and—best of all—a surprise synchronized swimming performance, set to ’20s tunes, in the Pendry’s waterfront pool. Welcome to Baltimore, indeed. B A LT I M O R E . O R G Sagamore Pendry
