Baltimore’ s pledge to embrace everyone
Recently, Visit Baltimore launched a“ Warm Welcome” initiative to make it undoubtedly clear that the city and its hospitality industry welcome all travelers no matter who they are or where they come from.
Local hotels, restaurants, attractions and other businesses are coming together to demonstrate Charm City’ s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion by pledging to use affirming language, inspire allyship and foster opportunities for continued learning.
These are biases that Baltimore is actively seeking to recognize and avoid.
“ The long-term work of addressing bias includes expanding your exposure to people, books and films that are outside of your comfort zone. Learn the true history of this country and how systemic racism impacts everyone. Finally, be willing to seek feedback from others,” notes Janese Murray, the training facilitator and president of Inclusion Impact Consulting in Baltimore.
