After years on the farmers’ market circuit, baker Max Reim announced in 2018 that he was planning to open his first brick-and-mortar. In October, it finally happened. Set in a former Patterson Park grocery store, the shop regularly sells out of Reim’ s sweet and savory pie creations, which feature local, seasonal produce in flavors that span the gamut between honey peach and chili verde.

Formerly The Dizz, Lily’ s channels its predecessor’ s casual and welcoming feel. The Remington spot will have an affordable price point and focus on elevated, yet playful pub grub including sandwiches, soups, salads, snacks and burgers, plus fried chicken with maple glaze and crab cakes with Texas toast.

Set in the new Canopy Hotel and created by lauded restaurant duo Tony Foreman and chef Cindy Wolf, this new restaurant pairs waterfront views of the Domino Sugar Factory with a menu inspired by Southern classics. Expect delicious cuisine standards with a modern update, such as chicken-fried steak, pork chops served with barbecue sauce and“ kaleslaw,” and fried green tomatoes alongside pimento ricotta.
