This elite pro cycling event will be the first of its kind in Maryland — and , as a prestigious race that ’ s just one rank below the Tour de France , only the second at this level in the United States . The 110-mile race will attract some of the world ’ s top riders to the Baltimore area for the event , which will also include a three-day festival celebration .

Since 1982 , this international lacrosse tournament has taken place every four years and features top female lacrosse players from up to 30 countries . This year , the U . S . lacrosse team — which has won eight of the 10 tournaments — will host the event at Towson
University .
