WHAT do you find inspiring about Baltimore ?
I worked as an art and culture writer for Urbanite magazine in 2010 and 2011 . I remember meeting someone who asked me what I did for a living and , when I told him , his question was : “ What will you write about after you ’ ve written about all of the ‘ good ’ art in Baltimore ?” And I was shocked by this assumption — first , that there was a limited amount of quality art ; and second , that I could possibly ever run out . Here ’ s the deal : Baltimore is a fantastic wormhole full of surprising , interesting and shockingly deep projects , collaborations and creative businesses . I am never bored here . I have such a long list of stories I need to write , so many good artists to feature , so many photo essays I want to commission , and endless opportunities to capture what I see as the best aspects of this city . Baltimore ’ s creative community gives me a long list every single day and my only regret is not being able to cover even more of it . VB
