KEYSTONE KORNER
Modeled after owner Todd Barkan ’ s legendary San Francisco jazz club of the same name , this Harbor East revival pays homage to Baltimore ’ s jazz history with live performances every night of the week . Go for the show , but don ’ t miss the food — the menu , developed by Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur Robert Wiedmaier , offers up nostalgiatinged Americana dishes alongside classic cocktails .
CIELO VERDE
When the vegetarian cafe Encantada closed at the American Visionary Art Museum last year , Baltimore foodies waited eagerly to find out what would end up in its charming third-story space . Now , we know : The space has reopened as Cielo Verde , a new concept from chef Irena Stein , who owns the Venezuelan cuisine favorite Alma Cocina Latina . Currently operating as a private events space with a focus on sustainable food , Cielo Verde offers sandwiches , salads , soups and arepitas . “ My intention was to unify the connection between food and culture — a culture where there is a deep-rooted appreciation of food that transcends flavor , into gratitude of the earth and bounty from which it came ,” Stein explained in a statement .
