CHARM CITY CERTIFIED
The Charm City Certified course is now the official hospitality sector training tool of the Baltimore Workforce Development Board. The free online module provides insider knowledge of the city to help participants create authentic, welcoming experiences for all. Over the past fiscal year, the training has been incorporated into prep for CIAA volunteers and coursework at Morgan State University.
SUPPORTING COMMUNITY EVENTS
The Community Events Grant Program, distributed by Visit Baltimore through the Baltimore Tourism Improvement District( BTID), provided $ 42,500 in paid marketing and promotional support to five local community events, engaging hotels and local businesses.
The grants encourage the development and execution of a diverse range of events that attract visitors, engage residents and contribute to the overall vibrancy of the city. To align with the BTID’ s goals, the grant funding is only used for the marketing and promotion of multi-day events to drive paid room nights into area hotels, boost attendance at the events and increase overall economic impact.

THE NEXT GENERATION OF HOSPITALITY
The 5th Annual CTE Food, Beverage & Baking Competition brought nearly 200 students from five Baltimore City high schools to the Baltimore Convention Center, all vying for top culinary honors. Forest Park High School took first place with a two-person team outperforming full five-person squads in a market basket challenge. This year’ s competition marked a milestone: the first-ever integration of the Baltimore Hospitality Sector Partnership, with more than 20 participating employers looking to connect with students passionate about the field.
