RAISING THE [ PREAKNESS ] STAKES

This year , to celebrate the 149th running of the Preakness Stakes , Visit Baltimore partnered with 1 / ST Racing & Gaming , the event organizer , to bring extra attention to this iconic and historic Baltimore tradition . These efforts included a digital marketing campaign , a video series , on-site activations , including a Visit Baltimore-sponsored race and race-day signage , and a pre-promotional media event .
CHARM CITY STORIES
In partnership with 1 / ST , and in anticipation of Preakness 149 , Visit Baltimore produced “ Charm City Stories ,” a short video series showcasing Baltimore ’ s vibrant energy , creative culture and exciting attractions . This collaboration invited viewers to experience Baltimore ’ s charm and hospitality and ignited a desire to visit additional parts of the city while in town for Preakness . The four-part series includes features of various Baltimore businesses including Ekiben , the Baltimore Museum of Art , Jake ’ s Skatepark and more . The series garnered over 143K views across YouTube , Facebook , Instagram and X in May 2024 .
REGIONAL EVENTS CAMPAIGN
Leading up to Preakness 149 and aligning with the kickoff of festival season , Visit Baltimore ran a campaign highlighting can ’ t-miss events targeting city and surrounding county residents . The campaign resulted in over 4.2MM impressions , over 80K clicks and more than 78K web sessions .
