SHOWCASING BALTIMORE ’ S BLACK CHEFS
Visit Baltimore collaborated with the James Beard Foundation and our PR agency partners from DCI to host a multi-course dinner for culinary media and other VIPs at the new state-of-the-art show kitchen , Platform by JBF in New York City . The dinner featured Baltimore-inspired dishes from seven of Baltimore ’ s celebrated Black chefs , including Chef David Thomas and Chef Tonya Thomas , H3irloom Food Group ; Chef Jasmine Norton , The Urban Oyster ; Chef Scott Bacon , Magdalena ; Chef Saon Brice , BLK Swan ; Chef Catina Smith , Our Time Kitchen ; and Chef DJ Neal , Loving Spoon Collective .
Dinner guests , including reporters for food and travel publications like AFAR , EBONY , Thrillist , Forbes , Bon Appetit , Food & Wine and Serious Eats , left full and inspired to explore Charm City ’ s culinary scene . The event generated positive coverage , including a shout out on The Sherri Shephard Show and write-up in Skift Meetings with more stories in the works !
