Total Economic Impacts
The CIAA Tournament ’ s direct spending impact of $ 13.9 million generated a total economic impact of $ 19.6 million in the local economy , which supported 1,159 part-time and full-time jobs and generated $ 1.9 million in state and local taxes

Direct Impacts : CIAA Tournament Participants And Spectators
Nearly 24,000 unique attendees went to one or more games during the CIAA tournament . An additional 6,600 out-of-town visitors attended a CIAA event , but did not attend a live game at Royal Farms Arena .
The 2022 CIAA Basketball Tournament welcomed 36,390 total attendees over 22 basketball games ( seven sessions ) during the five-day tournament . Approximately 11,000 fans attended the championship games ( seventh session ).
In addition to the tournament attendees and non-attendee visitors , 1,200 people from the participating schools including players , coaches , staff , trainers , band members and cheerleaders came to Baltimore to take part in the tournament .
Finally , more than 170 media worked the event , approximately 100 of which originated from outside the City of Baltimore .
