FACILITATING SAFER MEETINGS
The Safer Meetings Platform was created to provide connections, information and resources to meeting planners and attendees in order to have the safest event possible. From the health of attendees to protocols in the event of weatherrelated emergencies, the Visit Baltimore team is ready to ensure all visitors to Baltimore feel safe, secure and warmly welcomed.
The toolkit includes risk mitigation checklists, crisis communication documents, connection to public safety agencies in the city, and information about our GBAC STARâ„¢ accreditation program.

PRIORITIZING PUBLIC HEALTH: GBAC STAR ACCREDITATION
In an effort to prepare facilities for the eventual return of meetings travel, Visit Baltimore partnered with the Global Biorisk Advisory Council( GBAC) to implement STAR Accreditation for Baltimore venues, including stadiums, hotels, restaurants, attractions and more to ensure the highest standards in sanitization and cleanliness. The process is extensive and includes 20 program elements with specific performance and guidance criteria that each facility must meet.
This past year, dozens of facilities have achieved GBAC STAR accreditation, including BWI Airport, Baltimore Convention Center, Foreman Wolf Restaurant Group, City Cruises and more. Overall, Visit Baltimore has worked with 97 facilities, and is currently in the process of becoming one of only a select few to receive GBAC STAR accreditation as a destination.
