Visions of Blockchain Magazine Visions of Blockchain Pillar Unepisode | Page 19
VoB: It’s a humanist project.
Tomer: It is. Pillar is definitely a humanist
project.
You know, it’s about returning data to the
people and, more importantly as you said,
it’s about changing the way data is owned,
exchanged and consumed.
It’s redefining what we already have.
It’s bigger than Crypto, it’s about data in
general.
It’s about us.
That’s why we called it Pillar, by the
way. We called it Pillar because we hope,
and believe, that it’s going to be one of
the most important projects of the 21st
century, and that it’s going to bring a very
positive contribution to the world.
It’s difficult to anticipate the possibilities
that could come after.
It will probably open some doors, most of
which we don’t know yet, but we’re going to
face them, challenging and solving them
one by one.
It’s a long term project. We didn’t say,
„okay, we’re here for a couple of years,
now we’re finished, and we made our mo-
ney”.
No, it’s something that we we took for
granted, it’s more than just a marathon.
It’s something that we’re speaking about it
all the time, David in particular, and he’s
here speaking at the Unconference too.
He talks about 2030 and about 2050, and
the trends that are going to come.
It’s going to involve an enormous amount
of education. We speak about education
all the time, and the reason that we’re spe-
aking about education is that the world
of today, the polarized world of today,
putting one person against the other, has
to be recreated as well.
Education and communication, talking to
groups and individuals, around the world
is very important. You have to talk to
regulators.
One of the first projects to their heads out
of the sand in this Blockchain industry,
this decentralized industry, and said No.
We have to talk to regulators, because if
you’re not talking to them they are just
going to do whatever they think is right,
and they’re not bad people, they just have
some imperatives that are coming on their
end, and the imperatives in most cases are
how to protect society the best way „they”
know how to do it, and the best way to
protect their investors.
What we want to say is, this new techno-
logy opens doors for opportunity, it reduces
costs and friction dramatically, and in-
creases transparency and sustainability.
That’s the connection, and the constant
communication that we have, and at the
same time we’re not forgetting where we
are. We talked about it earlier. We’re not
forgetting that this is for the people.
We’re returning the data to the people,
returning liberty and freedom to the people,
and that’s why we’re still keeping our very
grassroots movement of inclusivity, ena-
bling people say we’re not an exclusive
club.
Tomer: Sure.
