So, the best way is to use the decentralized,
fantastic infrastructure which is the Block-
chain, the decentralized ledger technolo-
gies and cryptography to be able to secure
the data and make redundant, and now
without any single point of failure.
That’s number one about our account.
More importantly, there are no apps in the
Pillar world.
All the offers are coming to you. So
essentially, we’re changing the way data
is owned, exchanged and consumed
because the users are not the centre of the
ecosystem right now, the service is.
You’re using the search engines, you’re
buying online, you’re booking a cab, you’re
ordering a pizza, etc.
We want to create a world where the user
controls the data, is at the centre of the
ecosystems, and all the services come to
you.
It doesn’t matter if it’s a T-shirt or if it’s
participation in an ICO. That’s the world
we’re building. We’re building a world whe-
re theoperating system in the 21st Century
will belong to the people.
VoB: It’s really amazing. I would really like
to know where the idea came from, and
what the reason was, for you and your
co-founder to launch this project.
Tomer: Well, you can ask David tomorrow,
as he’s been speaking about it since 1997.
The first time he spoke about it was in
Stanford, obviously the world has gone in
a completely different direction, and large
corporations have essentially changed or
hijacked the Internet.
First, with open protocols and the things
the Internet was founded on.
They said, this is my network now and
you’re under my control.
We want to change that.
David wrote a book called „Pull”, and I sug-
gest everyone orders it, as it’s essentially
what we’re building. He started writing the
book after ten years of speaking about it.
It was written in 2007, and published in
2010, when there was no Blockchain or
cryptography, at least cryptography was
not as advanced as it is today.
