the right place, the right time By staff reports Founded in 1870, Rockdale County is a growing, dynamic community about 25 miles east of Atlanta on Interstate 20. It is the second smallest of Georgia's 159 counties, but abundantly rich in history and culture. Many would describe Rockdale as the type of family-friendly community that appeals to families who want a great, progressive environment to raise their children, as well as young singles or professionals looking to plant roots.
