In all of the joyful moments of building new relationships,
not all are as easy and straightforward. One of our
neighbours’ children, who we drive to school each day,
has been a challenge since we moved in. At just 7 years
old he has a different concept, or maybe none at all of
‘borrowing’ something. He takes it upon himself to help
himself. The children’s toys go missing, bikes have been
ridden away, one of our chooks was given to a no doubt
hungry dog, and dear Caitlyn’s duck was drowned in the
water trough. How can one little boy be so testing?
I am reminded that it’s not through our efforts
or strength that people here will change,
or open up to us, or come to Christ; our
willingness to be an expression of God’s love
will have to be enough for now.
We continuously ask the Spirit to provide opportunities
to share Jesus. Those who first opened the doors for us
to this culture were undoubtedly our language nurturers.
We have had opportunity to discuss all manner of topics
from marriage to parenting, gardening and cooking.
My nurturer is named ‘Youngest Flower’ and I praise
God that as our relationship has grown over the time we
spend together, I have been able to share conversations
of Him. It is these conversations, and this desire to share
Jesus, that led us all here, so others may know our
Lord and Saviour.
Please pray for us, that we will share more
news with you, as we believe that God has
prepared many hearts that will receive Him,
in His timing.
Excited to see how God is opening doors for
our team to build friendships with K people?
