“I am sorry,
we borrowed these photographs
many years ago
and they have been sitting in our garage…”
Recently returned to the offices at
Global Interaction was a large box,
dropped off at reception with a brief
message, “I am sorry we borrowed these
photographs many years ago and they
have been sitting in our garage…” The
box was opened and inside was packets
of photographs in folders labelled
‘Historic PNG’.
The archives of Global Interaction are full of boxes,
like the one delivered, each contains a treasure
trove of images, film footage and information that
tell a story of how this ministry has grown. The
photographs are unique to the pioneering work of
cross-cultural workers and there is an extensive
alumni associated with this organisation whose
stories we continue to gather and look forward
to sharing with Vision readers. For all who have
engaged in Baptist missions work, we know our
history was built on strong foundations, that
continues today.
We hope to continue the process of digitising the
images, so that they are kept as a lasting record for
the next generations.
