COMPLETION OF SERVICE
Haylee Freudigmann began as the National Young Adults Consultant
in 2010, she lead the team of Young Adult Consultants from
around the country by providing thoughtful strategy, practical
support, excellent resources and pastoral encouragement.
From 2013 Haylee also served as the Learning and Development
Consultant carrying out significant research, training and reviews
for the organisation. Haylee concluded her service in August to
develop her own business in training consultancy while spending
more time with her family.
Karen Haynes concluded her service as the Young Adult Consultant
for Queensland on the 31 May to move into an Airforce
Chaplaincy role. She began in this role in September 2011,
and served with passion and integrity. Karen worked hard to
broaden the influence of Global Interaction with young adults
and churches across Queensland and was an integral part of the
Queensland state team. Karen is gifted in strategic thinking and
this combined with her passion for the least-reached and the
Baptist denomination made her a valuable member of the Young
Adult Team.
Wendy, with husband Ian, served in Malawi from 1996 and have
since returned to Australia after 20 years of continual service.
Wendy, with her nursing background was able to provide
community medical assistance at the malnutrition clinic at a local
orphanage and after adopting their two Malawian boys performed
parenting and home schooling duties. Ian continues with Global
Interaction part-time overseeing the Ciyawo-English Dictionary
Project while Wendy settles back into Australia with their 2
teenage sons, Simeon and Benjamin.
Lulu was a teacher in Australia before going to PNG with Global
Interaction to teach during 1971-72. Using her Master of
Education, Lulu served in Central Asia from 1999 to June 2016.
She has a deep love for people and found much joy in teaching
conversational English. Lulu was also able to help and guide other
teachers. Lulu’s apartment was a popular place for students to
gather for informal practice of the English language which gave her
the opportunity to share her faith. Lulu has been overjoyed to see
friends come to faith. Lulu’s attitude was that Central Asia was her
home and the people amongst whom she worked are her family.
Carmel Ward served on the NSW/ACT Global Interaction Team
from 2010-2016 in administration and coordinating Home
Assignments. Carmel was largely responsible for transforming
the mission houses from somewhat dowdy residences to bright,
inviting and comfortable homes. She worked with pastors,
supporters, people group advocates and cross-cultural workers in
order to streamline the Home Assignment process and facilitate
our workers in raising and maintaining support levels.
