The reputation of the Irish market as being business supportive, an experienced and educated workforce, an open economy, a competitive corporate tax environment, flexible entry and exit mechanisms, the considerable presence of US multinationals and the long and successful experience they have had from being located in Ireland and operating across Europe, Middle East and Africa. What incentives were provided to Yahoo by the Irish Government and the IDA? An impressive suite of incentives were provided by the Irish Government, ranging from employment grants to a competitive corporation tax environment. These incentives are provided to most companies deciding to set up and operate from Ireland within the context of the European Union, hence we now have a considerable number of industries that avail of these incentives, and this is particularly so in relation to companies like Yahoo!, where most of the companies in our industry segment are based in Ireland.
