Impact and results“ Cody Trip with Eric Carle’ s Ship” fostered both literacy and 21st-century skills in a fun and inclusive environment. It encouraged international cooperation, communication in English, creative thinking, and the integration of technology in the classroom.
Students not only improved their coding and storytelling abilities but also learned to appreciate cultural diversity and teamwork across borders.
“ Cody Trip with Eric Carle’ s Ship” proved that stories can be powerful bridges between cultures and disciplines, and that coding can be a playful and expressive tool for young learners. Thanks to the dedication of the founding teachers and the enthusiasm of the project partners, this eTwinning collaboration has become an inspiring example of how literature and technology can come together in education.
Vasiliki Karakatsani, a dedicated kindergarten teacher in Greece’ s public education system and school head for 26 years, combines experience with innovation in her educational journey. Holding a Master’ s in the Organization and Administration of Educational Units, she values most the daily interaction with children and colleagues. Her participation in eTwinning and Erasmus + projects has been transformative, connecting her with educators across Europe and fostering a collective vision for education. Passionate about integrating robotics and coding with literature and the arts in early childhood, she nurtures curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking, planting seeds for a joyful and sustainable learning future.
Nicoletta Hustiuc, an early childhood education teacher at Vinerea Kindergarten in Cugir, Alba County, Romania, has dedicated 25 years to nurturing young learners with passion and creativity. A graduate of the Pedagogical High School in Deva, she serves as an ambassador for eTwinning, Erasmus +, Scientix, Book Creator, and Code Week, promoting quality education and playful learning. Strongly committed to international collaboration, she has co-founded award-winning eTwinning projects with her Greek colleague Vasso, recognized at both national and European levels. Their recent in-person meeting during a STEM conference was a deeply emotional milestone, highlighting the power of eTwinning to inspire, connect, and transform education.
