Animal Mode: Learning Together through Creative Collaboration by Tina Parać

This year, students from Class 3. a at Primary school Knez Trpimir, Croatia, are participating in the international eTwinning project“ Animal Mode,” developed and led by their English teacher, Tina Parać. The project’ s main goal is to foster collaboration among students across Europe through creative tasks, while supporting the development of language, digital, and social skills. This international eTwinning project offers a fresh and innovative learning experience, creating a truly European classroom where every student is welcome. Students connect, collaborate, and communicate with peers from Croatia, France, Portugal, Poland, Spain, and Turkey. Beyond making new friends, they explore fascinating insights about different cultures and the world around them.
Integrated learning through curriculum-based activities All project activities are thoughtfully integrated into the third-grade curriculum across multiple school subjects, including English, Music, Art, and Nature & Society. This cross-curricular approach allows students to develop a wide range of skills simultaneously, encouraging interdisciplinary learning and helping them
make meaningful connections between different areas.
Connecting knowledge across the curriculum In English lessons, the project encourages communication through games, conversations, and creative tasks, helping students become more confident and comfortable using English in everyday situations. In Music and Arts, students explore various forms of artistic expression, using sound and visuals to reflect on daily life and nature. In Nature & Society, hands-on and research activities spark curiosity, encouraging students to observe, ask questions, and think critically about their environment. These tasks also help them understand their role as active, responsible members of the community.
This engaging, cross-curricular approach not only makes learning more enjoyable; it also supports natural curiosity. All activities are designed to develop creativity, teamwork, independence, and problem-solving, skills that will support students both in school and everyday life.
Imagination and Creativity Running throughout the school year, this project weaves together science, social studies, art, and foreign languages, helping students see how learning connects across subjects. Activities are designed to inspire creativity and imagination – students create digital puzzles, build virtual exhibitions, and even organize an international Christmas concert.
