and funded by the Italian Erasmus+ Agency so the
next school year four new teachers will have a job
shadowing experience in the schools which were
my project partners! It is a wonderful example of
how eTwinning projects can be disseminated!
School Oxford Debate Championship in English held
in Bydgoszcz last March.
The organization of this blended eTwinning course
was considered a best regional practice by the
Italian NSS so that I was asked to show it during a
Teach Meet organized at the annual national
meeting of the Italian Ambassadors in Volterra
(Pisa) last July.
In the meantime, two other classes were involved
in another eTwinning project,
(https://twinspace.etwinning.net/75317/pages/pag
e/469554) with a school of Northern Italy, focused
on cultural heritage and different regional
production. In this way we wanted to develop a
work placement experience scheme (Italian
Alternanza Scuola/Lavoro) for our students while
spreading the eTwinning mission among the school
partner teachers.
While working to disseminate eTwinning among
colleagues, I was also engaged in coordinating the
final steps of the Erasmus+ KA2 project focused on
public speaking and debating. I must underline that
in Italy, spreading the “debate” is a priority of our
Ministry of Education as this methodology supports
the cooperative learning and the peer education
which, we know, are two essential features of
eTwinning. So I thought to link the Erasmus+ KA2
to an eTwinning project entitled “Speak up, even if
your voice shakes”, which let the students of six
classes to be trained about this new methodology
by the students involved in the different mobilities
who acted as real transformation agents towards
their mates, spreading all the knowledge they had
got and their personal experience as well. This
eTwinning project was mentioned in the handbook
on the synergy between eTwinning and Erasmus+
written by the CMEPIUS. Moreover the Italian
students’ experience as eTwinner debaters was a
real success: my team finished fourth at the
twelve-team “Musketeers of Words” – Polish High
As an eTwinning School, we couldn’t forget to
empower our students awareness on the e-safety:
we caught all the training chance offered by the
Italian NSS, for example the webinar held by
professor Alberto Alemanno about his theory of
citizen lobbying to rethink representative
democracy, which was followed by our students of
the last year who had the possibility to ask
questions chatting with the speaker.
