Visibility of eTwinning Projects Group July 2026 Newsletter
asked myself: can a teacher take this and use it next week? If the answer was no, we needed to rethink.
A Year of Activities In April 2025, we hosted a webinar that brought together speakers from Romania, Greece, Spain, and Croatia to share project stories and practical ideas. Hearing from real teachers about real projects made innovation feel within reach rather than out of it. That session set a tone I tried to maintain throughout the year: grounded, honest, and rooted in classroom experience.
A month later, we ran a Virtual Earth Day Fair where members created digital booths on topics like renewable energy, recycling, and biodiversity. Using tools
such as Padlet and Google Slides, teachers built resources they could take directly into their lessons. It was a joy to see people shift from hesitant contributors to proud creators.
Later in the year, a webinar titled " Schools as Seeds of Change " brought together award-winning project leaders whose work was truly inspiring. Margarita Samoutian presented " Schoolnest: A Place of Wellbeing ", a project that transforms schools into emotionally safe and environmentally conscious spaces. Emese Cimpean shared " Our Sustainable Holiday Trip 2.0 ", guiding students to rethink travel and design responsible adventures. And two Greek colleagues, Georgia Mouselimi and Andriana Christopoulou, presented " Urban Heat Islands: A Tale of Two Cities "— a project that happens to be close to my own teaching practice as well. Listening to these educators reminded me why I believe in eTwinning so strongly: it connects people doing extraordinary things in ordinary classrooms.
When Co-Creation Becomes the Point The most meaningful moment of the year came in April 2026, when 25 teachers from across Europe contributed to a collaborative digital book called " Seeds of Change: Ideas for Sustainability Teaching." It brought together lesson plans, activities, and project ideas, and was published as an open resource on the European School Education Platform: https:// schooleducation. ec. europa. eu / en / teach / teaching-materials / seeds-change-ideassustainability-teaching.
