Learning for the future Together, these three eTwinning projects illustrate how cultural heritage can become an active part of modern education. By combining art, history, geography, language learning, digital technologies, and creative expression, they provide rich interdisciplinary learning experiences.
Students move beyond memorising information to researching, designing, creating, presenting, and collaborating with peers across Europe. In the process, they develop essential twenty-firstcentury skills, including critical thinking, teamwork, creativity, digital literacy, and intercultural communication.

Iuliana Ivan is a teacher of English at lowersecondary level, an Erasmus + project coordinator, and both a founder and partner in numerous eTwinning projects. Her professional interests focus on innovative teaching practices that foster intercultural dialogue, creativity, digital competence, and collaborative learning across Europe.
Teachers also benefit through international cooperation, professional exchange, and the integration of innovative teaching methods into everyday classroom practice.
In an increasingly interconnected world, initiatives such as these demonstrate that understanding cultural heritage is not about preserving the past unchanged. Instead, it is about using shared traditions to build dialogue, respect, and cooperation for the future. Through creativity and collaboration, eTwinning enables young Europeans to appreciate both their own cultural identities and the rich diversity of others.
