Assessment in eTwinning must be continuous and formative, serving to guide the learning process rather than just grade the final product. To achieve this during our live meetings, we integrated interactive surveys and live Kahoot! Games, mentimeter, slido.
These gamified assessment tools served multiple pedagogical purposes: 1 Pulse Checks: They allowed teachers to instantly gauge how well students understood the project’ s core concepts across all participating countries. 2 Peer Evaluation: Engaging quizzes designed around project milestones gave students a fun, low-stakes environment to test their knowledge on the materials presented by their peers. 3 Active Engagement: The competitive yet friendly nature of Kahoot!, mentimeter or slido, kept energy levels high during long digital sessions, ensuring that students remained focused, vocal, and deeply invested in the live feedback loop.
The CCAB project brought together a vibrant international network, uniting Greek, Turkish, and Romanian partners in a shared educational mission. In my own classroom, 22 dedicated students enthusiastically took part in this project, forming a core cohort of eager learners. The underlying philosophy of CCAB was to challenge students to look at societal traditions through a dual lens: one of creative celebration and another of intense critical scrutiny.
Reimagining traditions: The Creation of New Holidays The first phase of the CCAB project focused on cultural exchange through radical innovation. Instead of merely researching existing national holidays, students were tasked with designing entirely new holidays to celebrate. This required deep introspection regarding what values, historical lessons, or modern concepts deserved global recognition.
Students researched global traditions, negotiated themes, and built comprehensive cultural portfolios for their invented celebrations. This exercise forced them to think about the anatomy of a holiday – its symbols, rituals, historical backing, and societal purpose. Through this creative process, students introduced their peers to unique cultural perspectives, establishing a deep sense of mutual respect and shared global identity.
