The project also included playful challenges, such as the“ Challenge Wheel”, coding activities for Code Week, and the creation of a collaborative project song. Working in international teams, the pupils solved problems together, exchanged encrypted messages, and even chose the melody of their common song.
Technology as a bridge for intercultural learning Technology helped us stay connected throughout the project. The children used platforms such as Canva, Genially, StoryJumper, and Google Docs to create shared products, while the online meetings allowed them to present their work, celebrate special events, and communicate with their international partners. One of the most exciting moments was creating the project song. After the pupils worked together on the lyrics, artificial intelligence was used to transform their ideas into music. This helped the children see that technology can support creativity when it is used responsibly.
At this age, they are curious, open to new experiences, and eager to make friends. When they are given opportunities to work with peers from other countries, respect for diversity develops better through experience and not through theory.
The“ Beyond Borders Together We Shine” project showed that intercultural education does not require complicated lessons. It develops through conversations, shared stories, collaborative games, creative tasks, and moments when children realise that, despite speaking different languages or living in different countries, they laugh at the same jokes, enjoy similar games, and dream about many of the same things.
