Throughout the project, students gradually embraced sustainability not merely as an academic subject but as a way of life and a principle of character development, progressing through the cycle of Virtue – Value – Action.
In this educational journey, digital tools were not viewed as an end in themselves. Rather, they served as bridges for developing ethical awareness, social responsibility, and collective consciousness. Within this framework, empathy ceased to be an abstract emotion and became a catalyst for concrete behaviours capable of generating real social impact. Students developed a shared environmental consciousness, recognizing how their individual decisions contribute to shaping the world of tomorrow.
The project is based on a Holistic Education approach, integrating environmental challenges with the key competences required in the twenty-first century. Designed collaboratively by all partners through a democratic and participatory process, it represents a shared commitment made by young people to future generations. In the digital age, it is not only information that endures, but also the legacy of conscience that we leave behind.
The activities reflected a successful collaboration between the two participating countries. Joint products such as inspirational videos, an online book, and virtual meetings held via Google Meet strengthened teamwork, encouraged communication in English,
and promoted tolerance, empathy, and respect for diversity.
One outstanding example of good practice was the webinar on online safety, hosted by students from Marin Coman Theoretical High School under my coordination. The event was organized on the occasion of Safer Internet Day and aimed to raise awareness about the importance of responsible Internet use.
During the webinar, students prepared and delivered interactive presentations addressing the risks and challenges of the online environment, including cyberbullying, personal data protection, Internet addiction, and the identification of misinformation and fake news. Their educational materials encouraged active participation while fostering critical thinking and digital literacy.
A particularly valuable moment of the event was the participation of a specialist in cybersecurity and online safety, who discussed the major dangers of the Internet and effective ways to prevent them. Dr. Eng. Mihai Vlase, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Automation, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering at " Dunărea de Jos " University of Galați, answered students ' questions, offering practical examples and valuable recommendations for safe and responsible digital behaviour.
