Croatian eTwinning ambassadors responded quickly. That initial response grew into a sustained programme: together with ambassador colleagues, we organised more than 100 national and international online events and welcomed more than 200 guest speakers. These events have been free, accessible and strongly rooted in classroom practice. Participants have been able to follow demonstrations, ask questions and hear directly from teachers engaged in international collaboration. describing it. Just as importantly, participants could hear that others were facing similar uncertainties.
The experience confirmed something that would shape our later work: professional learning is most effective when it is relevant, timely and based on authentic practice. Once schools reopened, the need for such encounters did not disappear. Teachers had discovered the value of a recurring online meeting point that required no travel and made expertise from different schools and regions readily available.
The questions were immediate and concrete. How could pupils collaborate when they were not in the same classroom? Which tools were simple enough to introduce quickly? How could teachers protect pupils ' privacy, organise work in TwinSpace and keep an international partnership active while also mastering distance teaching? From Platform Support to Professional Dialogue A full cycle entitled eTwinning mogućnosti( eTwinning Possibilities) began in January 2021. Its early sessions addressed the questions most often raised by teachers who were new to eTwinning: how to find partners, plan a project, work safely with pupils in TwinSpace and sustain collaboration over time. The aim was to make entry into eTwinning less intimidating and to show that meaningful international work was possible without advanced technical knowledge.
