Coding Unplugged activities proved particularly valuable because they demonstrated that computational thinking does not require computers. Through movement games, floor grids, directional cards and collaborative challenges, pupils developed sequencing skills, spatial awareness and algorithmic thinking while improving communication and teamwork. These activities also strengthened perseverance, resilience and flexible thinking, as children were encouraged to test different solutions and learn from mistakes.
Introducing computational thinking at an early age also contributed to the development of essential twenty-firstcentury competences. Pupils learned to analyse information systematically, break complex tasks into manageable steps, identify relationships and develop strategies for solving problems. More importantly, they discovered that logical thinking is not limited to computer science but represents a valuable life skill applicable across different learning contexts.
Pixel Art activities created an engaging connection between mathematics, technology and visual arts. By following coordinates and numerical codes, pupils produced colourful digital images inspired by European monuments, cultural symbols and traditional motifs. These meaningful tasks strengthened their concentration, their visual perception and their logical thinking while demonstrating that mathematics and creativity complement one another.
Colour by Code activities further supported early mathematical understanding by combining arithmetic, colour recognition and coding principles. Children experienced mathematics as a playful exploration rather than a sequence of routine exercises, increasing both motivation and confidence.
