experiences, STEM investigations, artistic activities, digital collaboration, and outdoor learning.
Our journey began in September by exploring our kindergarten schoolyards. Children carefully observed trees, flowers, insects, playgrounds, and green areas, discovering that nature is an important part of their daily lives. Celebrating the European Day of Languages gave them the opportunity to meet their international partners, while World Cleanup Day encouraged them to become active caretakers of their own environment.
October introduced the topic of Urban Heat and Cool Solutions. Through simple experiments, children compared sunny and shaded places, measured temperatures, and discovered how trees naturally cool urban spaces.
November was dedicated to trees and plants. One of the most exciting collaborative activities was the international seed exchange among partner schools. Each package of seeds represented not only a gift but also a symbol of friendship between children living in different European countries. During Outdoor Classroom Day, learning moved outside, where nature became the classroom itself. Children planted seeds, cared for young plants, observed seasonal changes, and discovered how patience, responsibility, and teamwork help living things grow.
Creativity flourished in December during the " Art for Nature " activities. Inspired by World Soil Day, children created artworks
using leaves, branches, recycled materials, and natural objects collected outdoors. Art became a language through which children expressed their appreciation for nature while developing imagination and fine motor skills. During an online meeting, partner schools shared traditional Christmas songs and cultural symbols, strengthening intercultural understanding and celebrating Europe ' s rich diversity.
January focused on children ' s wellbeing through nature. Outdoor games, movement activities, mindfulness exercises, and winter explorations demonstrated that natural environments positively influence emotional health. Celebrating World Snowman Day reminded everyone that learning outdoors can be joyful regardless of the season.
February combined STEM education with environmental awareness. Through experiments about water, soil, and wetlands, children discovered the importance of natural ecosystems while celebrating World Wetlands Day.
At the same time, Safer Internet Day introduced digital citizenship in an ageappropriate way, teaching children that technology should be used safely and responsibly. Another meaningful activity involved creating bird feeders and observing local wildlife, encouraging empathy towards animals and a deeper understanding of biodiversity.
