Summer is finally here!
Ask any educator in the month of May if they are ready for the last day of school and you will get an definate YES! Don't get me wrong, we love our students and enjoy seeing them grow and prosper over the school year. But as the end of school approaches, our fuel gauges read empty and we're running on fumes. The summer provides a much needed break to relax, recharge and get ready for a new group of students.
As my last days of school unfold, I'm not only thinking about some much needed R&R, but also about the additional time I will be able to pour into my ministry. I have two projects that I'm eager to start. The first one is book 3 of The Girlfreind Series. If you've read book 1 and book 2 (check them out on p. 18) you've seen my main character Sharlee mature as a young woman and as a Christian. She's now in college and figuring out how to navigate life with the new found freedom of being on her own. I know that book 3 will bring much more growth (and drama) into her life. Will it include her first love Lucas? Hmmm . . . maybe . . .
My second project is a non-fiction book called Virtuous Victorious &Valued. Sound familiar? It's a book for Chrsitian teens that will discuss issues we don't want to talk about but NEED to talk about with our girls. Boys, dating, sex, modesty, temptation, media influence, friends- the list goes on and on. Our girls need to know how to navigate these tough situations BEFORE they happen. This book will give them to tools to do it successfully.
It sounds like my summer will be filled with more work that relaxation, huh? But I'll be sure to get in a good bit of both. Writing for Christ is a labor of love and I wouldn't spend my summer any other way! Enjoy your summer!
Blessings,
Angela
