Tati: Virtual worlds are an escape and as such they can be important to a person's leisure time HOWEVER they are also horribly addictive and totally mess up someone's real life if they are not careful. This is a very serious question and addiction is something that made me take a break from SL as I was addicted to playing EN Garde on here and it was starting to affect my work in RL. People cannot be nannied but they should be aware of how much time they spend on here and seek help if it becomes too much. There are groups on SL to help with this (there is even a branch of the Samaritans for suicide support on here) and those people do great work.
Predictions - 3D virtual reality bordering on total immersion. What that will lead to, is anybody's guess. Living in a dream state?
