well, I love it! I also love my pretty house and garden, and my cat …and more than anything else, the dear friends I’ve made, here in SL.

Jim

Alcyan: What Second Life means to you?

Jim: SL has been a way for me to find support and friendship I do not find in RL. I live in a very rural area and it is quite a drive to support groups events.. In Sl I can travel, meet people and find support from many sources. It has become part of my regular life.

Alcyan: What was the reason you originally joined Second Life and how you see Second Life today?

Jim: I originally joined SL as part of a research project. A project which helped me immensely. Today it is a way to connect with other amputee's and to do things I still have trouble doing in RL.

Alcyan: How important Second Life is to you?

Jim: It is important enough that i am on 20+days a month on slow months. and I do promote it's opportunities in RL.

Alcyan:What is your disability?

Jim: I am a bilateral below knee amputee.

Alcyan: Describe a normal day you spend in this virtual reality.

Jim: Most days I go dancing with friends and play Greedy. Occasionally I wander SL looking for new things to do. I am also managing an amputee support group in SL.

Alcyan: Are you an active member of the Virtual Ability community?

Jim: Yes, I do frequent VA events and have taken a few classes. I've even introduced for presenters.
