LS (ladyslipper.constantine): It depends on the disability I think. First of all there are many disabled in SL who do not tell anyone they have a disability. Second, some disabilities like beign on the Asperger spectrum, can mean difficulty in communication with others.
Alcyan: So LS is deaf, yet belongs to the performance group DRUM, what is your role there?
LS (ladyslipper.constantine): Remember, I can hear with my cochlear implant. I play the drums and I'm also the contact person for the group for someone wishing to have DRUM play for an event.
Alcyan: what you do is amazing, no matter what you use, people as yourself should be an example to the rest of us, would you like to share with us you first experience at the DRUM group?
LS (ladyslipper.constantine): :) My first experience was one of being scared. There are 6 drummers in the group and we all play a different drum for each set. So there are different sounds for each drum, and the director tells us which to play. I wasn't sure if I could do all that, but it turned out to be easy and the other drummers were all very helpful. The directions by the director are given in Text so I didn' t have to worry about hearing a voice over the sound of the Drums.
