Senior Women’ s Amateur at The Homestead’ s Old Course. returned to Virginia with that unfinished putt still lingering in her mind.
“ That night I went home, and I had a putting mat that I just kept practicing on with that distance,” she said.“ I came out the next day, and I made the putt and walked away with a bogey. In one sense, it was maybe a blessing because my game was starting to go south on the back nine.”
Cabriele and Shifflett both expressed how special it is to compete at The Homestead.“ For Kristin and me, it’ s like our home course even though it’ s not officially,” Cabriele said.“ We’ ve all been to The Homestead and played there in the State Amateur, and we just have a lot of history there together.” the Cascades in Virginia. We’ re showcasing and getting the opportunity to play the best of the best, and I know The Homestead will roll out the red carpet for us.”

Though this is her first appearance at the championship, Palko said she’ s focused on staying grounded.“ There’ s going to be people that hit a lot further than me, there are going to be some amazing golfers— but I just have to play my game,” she noted.
Cabriele and Shifflett earned their spots at a weather-delayed qualifier at Argyle Country Club in Silver Spring, Maryland. For Cabriele, the delay ended up being a blessing.
She had been standing over a crucial 10-foot putt on a par 3, sitting at even par and staring down the possibility of a double bogey. But before she could take the putt, play was suspended. Cabriele
A SUPPORTIVE FIELD AND A SHARED DREAM Shifflett echoed Cabriele’ s sentiments, especially the camaraderie among Virginia’ s senior women golfers.
“ I feel like the ladies’ golf group in Virginia, especially the senior ladies, are so supportive of each other,” she said.“ The championships are a lot of fun, but it’ s a whole other level of competition, and it can be a little overwhelming. But when you have some friends there and familiar faces and that support you, it really makes it that much better.”
All three women are looking forward to the opportunity to represent their home state on one of its most storied courses.
“ It’ s a huge deal,” Cabriele said.“ To highlight one of the best courses in the United States, as well as reminding everyone about
