KOHLER , WISCONSIN ( Oct . 10-13 ) If a fall golf getaway is in your plans , consider this new member trip for 2024 to Kohler . Located just northeast of Milwaukee and home of Whistling Straits , host of the 2021 Ryder Cup where the U . S . dominated Europe in a 19-9 victory .
Pete Dye designed both courses at Whistling Straits — the Straits Course and the Irish Course . The Straits is the championship venue , featuring open , rugged , and windswept terrain sculpted along two miles of Lake Michigan shoreline . The Irish Course is located just inland from the great lake . Interspersed by four meandering streams , expect grassland and dunes for a remarkably tranquil golf experience .
The rest of the trip will take members to Blackwolf Run , which features two more Pete Dye gems , the River and Meadow Valleys courses . The River course features target landing areas , large undulating greens and water or gorges on 14 of the 18 holes . Meadow Valleys has been described as both subtle and devilish , with rolling meadows and deep ravines that reflect the natural features of Wisconsin terrain .
Blackwolf Run also hosts The Baths , which includes a 10-hole par-3 course , a two-acre putting course , and food and beverage service . Holes on this walking-only venue — co-designed by Chris Lutzke and Herb Kohler — range from 60 to 175 yards and the course mirrors the more low-key and fun experience found at venues like The Cradle at Pinehurst .
