Virginia golfers share stories of mentorship

ANY OF VIRGINIA ’ S JUNIOR , AMATEUR AND PROFESSIONAL GOLFERS have been privileged with warm memories sharing the game they love with family members , mentors and coaches . Perhaps that ’ s why so many throughout the state continue to come back for more .
There are plenty of stories . Andrew Steis , recent Massaponax High School graduate , had his father beside him when his team won the Virginia High School League Commonwealth 5D district tournament in Fall 2021 . Farmington Country
Club member Jack Crombie was also with his father when he had a hole-in-one at Old Trail Golf Club ’ s No . 15 . Countless club professionals , swing and high school coaches have also been advocates and mentors for their students on and off the golf course , which reinforces that golf isn ’ t just a sport — it ’ s a community .
