ACTIVITIES FOR ALL AGES
AND SEASONS
The resort has a host of activities for families.
Children 2½ to 12 years of age like to
gather at The Treehouse where counselors
keep children active and entertained. The
Discovery Ridge Adventure Center is always
a flurry of activity, thanks to an outdoor rock
climbing wall, mini-golf course and bungee
trampolines.
The ZIP is a zip line that speeds you along
900 feet in under 30 seconds. Meanwhile, the
nearby Plunge Tubing Park drops you about
10 stories over the length of three football
fields. The park is open for snow tubing
December through March and summer
tubing during summer months.
Winter will be here before you know it and
families will start heading to Wintergreen to
ski. The winner of numerous awards for its
snowsports, the resort offers the region’s most
extensive beginner-to-expert ski terrain with
25 slopes, 14 of which are lighted for night
skiing. The resort typically starts making
snow in mid-November and continues the
process through March.
“We have one of the best snowmaking
systems you can find. It’s likely the biggest
and most powerful system in the U.S. that is
fully automated,” Roberts says.
In addition to skiing and snowboarding, the
