The best way to get the most out of your
drives is to listen to the swoosh of the club.
In order to generate the most distance, the
sound should come on the target side of the
golf ball. Here’s a great drill: Grab the clubhead end of your driver and concentrate on
making the swoosh either at the ball or after
the ball (it’s not as easy as it looks). It will be
obvious if you’re releasing the club too soon
because you’ll hear the sound while transitioning the club to the downswing.
Try it during your practice swing. Then
turn the club back around, try to repeat the
late swoosh and watch your drives fly far
and straight.
