Ybor City Tres speedy nightlife area founded in 1885 as the hub of Tampa ’ s cigar industry , this National Historic Landmark District hosts numerous cigar shops and eateries .
Bardmoor Golf & Tennis Club ( in Seminole ) – This par-72 course hosted the JCPenney Classic for 13 seasons and was redesigned by Gary Koch in 2001 . It ’ s described as “ demanding for pros , yet fun for all players ” with four sets of tees . The challenging par-5 16th hole plays 521 yards from the back tees , and Bardmoor is known for the quality of its greens .
Dunedin Golf Club ( Dunedin ) – This venerable Donald Ross design opened in 1927 . Once the home of the PGA of America , the semi-private , par-72 course has hosted 18 Senior PGA Championships and the likes of golf legends Bobby Jones , Ben Hogan and Sam Snead . Back tees measure 6,625 yards , but the teeth of this course is Ross ’ s design brilliance . Note that the course will be closed for a complete restoration in March but will reopen in December 2024 .
Fox Hollow Golf Club ( North Tampa ) – Designed by Robert Trent Jones , Sr ., this course offers fun and challenging variety with a range of wide-open fairways placed around water hazards to tight tree-lined holes into greens guarded by hazards . Five sets of tees are offered on this par-71 course that plays to just over 7,100 yards .
Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club ( Palm Harbor ) – Innisbrook boasts three 18-hole golf courses , including the par-71 Copperhead Course that annually hosts the PGA Tour . Copperhead measures 7,209 yards and is ranked as the PGA Tour ’ s 7th most difficult course . The par-72 , 7,194-yard Island Course has hosted U . S . Open Qualifiers and an NCAA Championship . The South Course plays to over 6,600 yards at par 71 and features ample waste areas and water hazards . The nine-hole North Course is known as “ Baby Copperhead .”
