running as soon as it was safe and feasible , and especially to The Donna Andrews Invitational and Boonsboro CC for setting the early , prime example of a first-rate and “ safe ” competition .
BEST CLUB IN YOUR BAG : My putter ! Because ( except when flagsticks get in the way ) it can so quickly make up for mistakes and also can transfer that positive momentum to your other clubs .
BEST COURSES YOU ’ VE PLAYED : Starting local , The Homestead ’ s Cascades Course , then The Old Course at St . Andrews for the amazing golf nostalgia factor , and Cape Kidnappers at Hawke ’ s Bay in New Zealand for the halfway-round-the-world “ wow ” factor .
BIGGEST GOAL FOR 2021 : Mount Vernon ’ s 15th State Team Match win , of course !

VSGA SUPER SENIOR GOLFER OF THE YEAR

Tim Vigotsky

HOME CLUB : Robert Trent Jones Golf Club
PERSONAL HIGHLIGHT : This would be a non-golf , family highlight but it is easily No . 1 . As we all know , 2020 has been an extremely difficult and challenging year . Adding to this for our family was that our 10-year-old golden retriever Cooper — known to many VSGA golfers — was diagnosed with an incurable type of cancer . After a very complex operation , multiple rounds of chemo , and many prayers , he is acting like a puppy half his age with energy and desire to love and live each day with fun and excitement . We are truly blessed to see him pain free and happy and continue to pray this will last as long as possible .
BEST CLUB IN YOUR BAG : Even though there are times when I don ’ t think any club is my best club and they all tick me off , if I have to pick one it is my putter . It is the same putter I have used for years and I never even think about switching because it always feels good .
BEST COURSES YOU ’ VE PLAYED : I have been a member of RTJ for many years and I still have to take a step back at times and look at the beauty of the holes along Lake Manassas . It is truly a great golf course , but it ’ s probably not right to pick my own course . Picking only one outside RTJ is very hard , so the two that bring an excitement I don ’ t feel anywhere else would be the Old Course at St . Andrews and Pebble Beach .
BIGGEST GOAL FOR 2021 : Probably the same as everyone else , and that is for a return to normalcy and an end to COVID- 19 . From a golf standpoint , there are certain things in my game that were not as sharp as 2019 so the first thing would be to fix these problems . I know what they are , but the golf season was so compressed there was never time to fix them .
