VSGA WOMEN ’ S GOLFER OF THE YEAR

Becca DiNunzio

HOME CLUB : Virginia Beach National GC
PERSONAL HIGHLIGHT : Making it to the round of 16 at the North & South and having the opportunity to play Pinehurst No . 2 and No . 4 . I was really happy to have played two solid rounds on those difficult courses and to be able to play in the match play format before getting knocked out by the eventual winner . Winning the VSGA Women ’ s Stroke Play had been a long-time goal of mine so I was happy to get it done this year .
BEST CLUB IN YOUR BAG : My favorite is my 60-degree wedge because I have confidence I can get up and down when using it around the greens . When having to lay up on par 5s , I like to play to a full 60-degree number because I like my distance control with the club . Flop shots are really fun to hit with this club too , and the club is necessary to get out of trouble like the bunker .
BEST COURSES YOU ’ VE PLAYED : The best courses I have played would have to include Bethpage Black ( N . Y .), El Caballero CC ( Calif .) and Pinehurst No . 2 . These courses test your entire game and are visually appealing too .
BIGGEST GOAL FOR 2021 : To compete alongside my teammates for Virginia Tech and play at the NCAA National Championship . It has been so amazing to be able to represent the Hokies so far , but a big goal of our program is to make it to the national championship .
