Coming back from a 4-down deficit to win 1 up in 21 holes to advance to the USGA Women’s Mid-Amateur semifinals and becoming the first woman to win the VSGA Women’s Stroke Play title four times. WHAT’S ONE UNIQUE ITEM IN YOUR BAG? A ceramic turtle that USGA Four-Ball partner Katie Miller and I bought at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach, Fla. We got them to use as ball markers at the Women’s Inter- national Four-Ball and I have left it in my bag ever since as a good luck charm. 20 V I R G I N I A G O L F E R | N O V E M B E R / D E C E M B E R 2 0 19 2019 HIGHLIGHTS » Reached semifinals of U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur (won event in 2015). » Won VSGA Women’s Stroke Play title for a record fourth time. » Won VSGA Women’s Four-Ball with Shabril Derco for a second time. » » » » (Also won with Alexandra Austin in 2017). WHAT’S ONE TIP YOU RECEIVED IN 2019 THAT REALLY HELPED YOU SUCCEED? It’s pretty simple, but just a reminder to stay patient. Play one shot, one hole, one round at a time and don’t worry about anything other than staying in the moment. This really helped me in the U.S. Wom- en’s Mid-Amateur when I found myself 4-down through eight holes. My boyfriend/caddie Jeff Long just told me to focus on picking off one hole at a time and that’s what we did. vsga.org VSGA WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE YEAR
