WOODMONT TO HOST 2020 U. S. WOMEN’ S AMATEUR Woodmont Country Club, located just outside of Washington, D. C., in Rockville, Md., will host the 2020 U. S. Women’ s Amateur Championship. A regular host of U. S. Open sectional qualifying, Woodmont’ s North Course will host a USGA championship for the first time. The last USGA championship held in Maryland was the 2011 U. S. Open at Congressional Country Club.

NOOE EARNS HONOR The National Golf Course Owners Association Mid-Atlantic named Wayne Nooe, vice president of golf and sports at Williamsburg’ s Kingsmill Resort, the 2017 Mid-Atlantic Golf Leader. The honor recognizes leadership and long-term service to both professional and resort golf.
Nooe was instrumental in extending the LPGA Kingsmill Championship contract through 2020. On a dayto-day basis, Nooe is responsible for serving Kingsmill’ s members and guests with enjoyable programming. Kingsmill stages more than 100 events for men and women members and is an active participant in the PGA Junior League.
“ Anytime someone thinks you are a leader, it’ s a compliment in itself,” Nooe said.“ But to be recognized by your peers, people who know what you go through and who know how hard it can be, is very special.”
