PLACES TO EAT
Expect to be well fed during your stay. The culinary centerpiece of the resort remains The Carolina Dining Room. Its breakfast buffet is a staple of the experience, renowned for Southern staples like biscuits and gravy that can fuel golfers for 36-hole days. An omelet station accounts for only a small portion of the spread’ s sheer scale. And it’ s included in most packages.
For lunch, grab a burger and a local craft beer at The Deuce, an establishment with a patio that sits right behind the 18th green of No. 2. Guests perpetually vow there’ s no better theater in golf than watching grown men sweat over a four-foot par putt to save their round while you enjoy your meal.
And in the evening, Pinehurst Brewing Co., which is housed in the restored 1985 steam plant within the Village of Pinehurst, is the go-to spot for BBQ meals and a lively patio. Plus, it’ s just a short walk or shuttle from the hotel.
THINGS TO DO
Pinehurst is a walk-heavy destination. There’ s plenty to do and see when you’ re not on the course. Plus, your party can enjoy ziplining, horseback riding, swimming, kayaking, and clay target shooting at or near the resort. For younger children, there’ s a medieval-themed playground. And for post-round stress relief, The Spa at Pinehurst’ s 50-minute, Swedish-style " Golfer’ s Massage " can quickly renew your lower back, hips, shoulders, and knees.
While Pinehurst is technically a year-round destination, the experience shifts with the seasons. The peak windows of April, May, and October offer ideal 70-degree weather and blooming dogwoods, though they command premium rates and crowded tee sheets. Conversely, the value season from November to February is significantly more affordable. While the grass is dormant and sweaters are the norm, the pace of play is faster and restaurant reservations are easier to secure. For anyone brave enough to face the summer heat and humidity, green fees drop, but the strategy is simple: Play early to finish before the midday heat settles into the pines.
