Before , during , or after your round you may like to hydrate with any combination of alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages . To each their own . But if you are the type that enjoys an assortment of adult beverages at the golf course it ’ s probably rarely wine unless you ’ re there for a wedding or some other formal function .
But why should that be the case ? The Commonwealth has the eighth most wineries of any state in the country (~ 500 ). While that pales in comparison to California ( 6,000 +) it ’ s enough to keep any oenophile busy bouncing from winery to winery regardless of where they ’ re based in the state .
That ’ s right . Wine is practically everywhere in Virginia . And for the sake of readers everywhere we ’ re breaking down golf courses and winery ‘ pairings ’ by four regions . By no means is this list exhaustive , but each combination allows for a short jaunt from course to tasting room .
